A Shield Painted On
Fluoride varnish is a golden, honey-like coating we paint onto teeth in under two minutes. It hardens on contact with saliva, soaks minerals back into soft spots, and keeps protecting for three to six months — no trays, no rinsing, no waiting around.
It's especially powerful for newly erupted molars, kids with braces, and anyone prone to cavities. Most children can eat soft foods within minutes and brush normally that night.
Why Parents Choose Fluoride
- Re-mineralizes early soft spots
- Cuts cavity risk by up to a third
- Painless — painted on with a tiny brush
- Safe from the first tooth onward
- Protects around braces and sealants
- Often covered 2–4 times a year
Three Minutes, Start to Finish
- Quick dry
Teeth are gently dried with air and cotton — kids pick a varnish flavor.
- Paint on
A soft micro-brush paints the golden varnish onto every surface.
- Set & go
Saliva hardens it instantly. Soft foods right away, normal brushing tonight.
- Recall
We reapply every 3–6 months, usually inside the regular cleaning visit.
Fluoride FAQs
Is fluoride safe for toddlers? –
Yes. Varnish uses a small, controlled amount that hardens on the tooth instead of being swallowed. It is the form pediatricians and dentists recommend from the first tooth.
Does it change how teeth look? +
Teeth may look slightly yellow for a few hours until the varnish wears off with eating and brushing. The effect is temporary and harmless.
Can it replace brushing? +
No — it's a teammate, not a substitute. Twice-daily brushing with fluoride toothpaste plus varnish 2–4 times a year is the winning combination.
What does it cost? +
Our Fluoride Protection Treatment is $45 as a standalone visit, and it's included free inside every cleaning. Most insurance covers it fully for kids.
